Welcome to Wake Forest Baptist Church! We are a vibrant and welcoming congregation of believers who are passionate about our faith and our community. Located on the edge of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina — formerly the site of Wake Forest College relocated in 1956 to Winston-Salem, North Carolina and now Wake Forest University — we are united by our desire to show the love of Jesus Christ to each other and our community through worship, ministries, and missions.
Our historic church traces its roots back to 1835 when a group of students attending Wake Forest College in North Carolina requested that a Baptist Church be established on the campus. The congregation worshiped in different buildings on campus until a new sanctuary was built in 1915. Today, we stay connected as a church through affiliations with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Global, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina, Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, the Raleigh Baptist Association, and the General Baptist Convention of Virginia.
Our church is led by a dedicated team of men and women who serve as ministers, deacons, and lay leaders who are committed to serving the needs of our congregation and guiding us in our mission. Through our unique leadership model combining our ministerial staff, deacons, and a leadership council, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to use their God-given gifts and talents for the greater good.
Worship is at the heart of our multi-generational church congregation. We come together on Sundays for a time of Bible study, traditional worship, and heartfelt prayer, helping us to grow closer to each other as we grow closer to God. Sunday services and additional opportunities for Bible study throughout the week are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to people of all backgrounds and ages, and we encourage everyone to participate and engage in meaningful ways.
At Wake Forest Baptist Church, we are passionate about serving our members and our community through a variety of ministries. From the WeeCare preschool, to Youth Discipleship, Adult Bible Study, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, and many more, our ministries cater to a variety of different age groups and life situations. Through our diverse set of ministries, we are able to serve our area, showing them the caring love of Jesus.
