Tree Angels for NC Troops provides the opportunity for individuals at WFBC as well as surrounding areas the opportunity to adopt Christmas Trees for soldiers and their families that might not otherwise be able to afford to purchase a live Christmas Tree.  The idea came about because the average Christmas Tree costs about 25% of a PFC’s weekly base pay.  This would be a large financial burden to bear for many of our soldiers who are laying their lives on the line for our behalf. The Tree Angels for NC Troops program begins mid-October and runs through the end of November. Please contact the WFBC office for details.

Welcome House is a CBF ministry that is led by WFBC members Kim and Marc Wyatt and WFBC has partnered with Welcome House as an Encourager Church. This ministry provides refugees with housing, training, ESL classes, and clothing as well as fellowship and guidance during their time at WH. The missionaries and volunteers help orient WH guests to life in the United States. Our support includes volunteers for specific tasks, funding, providing needed household, educational, and culinary items as well as being an encouraging presence for any and all guests who arrive through the doors of WH.

WFBC has teams trained to respond in natural disasters both at home and abroad.  Team members have chainsaws for tree removal, tarps for covering damaged roofs, and four wheel drive vehicles for emergency transportation. Members of the congregation of WFBC participate in regional training events provided by NC Baptists on Mission four times a year. The team is open to participation by both men and women who are interested in serving in this capacity.
