Adult Bible Study Opportunities – Spring/Summer 2021

Whether you are a member or a guest, all adults are welcome and encouraged to attend or participate in our various Bible Study Groups. Curious about joining or visiting a group? Groups currently meeting (virtually or in person) are listed below with contact info.

Barnabas – a discussion-based group of median aged adults known for active lifestyles and service to the church and one another. Meeting virtually via Zoom until June 5, then will begin meeting in room 119/120 on Sunday mornings at 10:30am.

Branches – ranging in age from approx. 35-55 and open to all ages, this group currently meets virtually via Zoom on Sunday mornings and uses the Formations curriculum as a springboard for wide ranging discussions.

Explorers – a median-age group (early forties to early sixties) of both couples and singles. We use the Smyth and Helwys Formations Bible Study curriculum as our guide. The class is a combination lecture/group discussion. We also enjoy social gatherings (typically once per quarter) and ministry projects. Currently meeting at 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings via Zoom and will begin meeting in-person beginning in June.

Faith Growers – a group of mixed-aged adults gathered for small group interaction and discussion of books of the Bible. Currently meeting virtually via Zoom on Sunday mornings.

Friendship – a group of senior adults emphasizing care for one another through prayer, phone calls, visitation and study. Using Smyth & Helwys literature to facilitate open discussion about life experiences and Bible truths. Meeting in-person on Sunday mornings at 10:30am, beginning Sunday, May 16.

Grace – an adult class that anyone can join, this group looks at scripture through the eyes of multiple generations to help scripture come alive in eye-opening and refreshing ways. Currently meeting at 11:00am on Sundays via Zoom for class and in-person at the Stephenson Campus pavilion on Tuesday evenings for fellowship.

Theophilus – a group of mixed-age adults, both couples and individuals, gathered for open discussion format to study different attributes of Christian living. Currently meeting virtually on Sunday mornings.

Paraclete – a group of adults of all ages using the Nurturing Faith study material with focus on being supporters and encouragers of one another in Christian faith. Currently meeting most weeks virtually via Zoom, and now once-a-month in a hybrid model of in-person and virtual. Meeting Sunday mornings at 10:45am.

Journey – an online Bible study presented on Sunday afternoons via the church Facebook page and the church YouTube channel. Currently led by Ryan Wilson. This Bible study is based on the lectionary and the Nurturing Faith Journal study material and is intended to be accessed at any time, giving you the option to go at your own pace.

Women’s Summer Bible Study – Life Lessons from Women in the Bible by Rhonda Harrington Kelley. This is a 6-week study. It is homework and discussion based. There are no associated videos. We will meet June 9, June 23, July 14, July 28, August 11, and August 18 at 9:30am in the Education Building. Contact: Deborah Moye –
